About Steve Levine

Steve has a wealth of experience spanning over 25 years, he started at CBS studios working with & engineering for many punk bands of the day such as The Clash, The Jags, The Vibrators and The Drones as well as pop act Sailor - produced by Bruce Johnson from The Beach Boys

Bruce was to play an important part in Steve's early career, culminating with Steve producing an album for The Beach Boys several years later. Frustrated as an engineer, and encouraged by Bruce Johnson, Steve began writing and producing his own tracks. Securing a publishing deal with Rondor Music, he purchased one of the very first Linn drum machines with the advance. At the time, Steve was recording with The Angelic Upstarts whose manager, Tony Gordon, had been approached by a new band called Culture Club. Steve hooked up with the band and recorded some tracks. Virgin picked the band up and the rest as they say is history!

Steve produced all of Culture Club's classic hits and the bands' first three albums, which included the multi platinum "Colour by Numbers". Culture Club has sold well over 20 million records worldwide and 'Karma Chameleon' still remains one of Virgin's biggest ever selling singles.

Since then Steve has worked with a wide spectrum of artists and composed a number of film scores. Artists he has worked with include The Beach Boys, Deniece Williams, China Crisis, Gary Moore, Ziggy Marley, Louise, The Creatures, Lemmy & Motorhead, David Grant, Quarterflash, Westworld Mis-teeq and 911. He also produced the platinum album by Honeyz entitled "Wonder No 8" including the hit singles 'Finally Found' and 'End of the Line'
Always happy to explore new avenues Steve was developing a new Russian artist called Alsou with Simon Napier-Bell when her manager entered the song they were working on as Russia's entry for Eurovision 2000. It won all the local heats and achieved second place that year. Steve was awarded with a Platinum disc as the single went on to become Russia's biggest selling record of all time.

2005 started with Steve being asked to produce the official Charity single "Grief Never Grows Old" for the Tsunami disaster. The single not only contributed to the fund but also provided an opportunity for Steve to bring together a number of fantastic artistes many of whom he had worked with in the past including Brian Wilson, Boy George. Gerry Beckley, Dewey Bunell, Gary Moore, as well as vocal legends Robin & Barry Gibb, Russell Watson Steve Winwood, Cliff Richard and Jon Anderson. The single also featured performances from Kenny Jones, Bill Wyman, Rick Wakeman.

The single was released 24th January 2005 and entered the UK chart at No.4 and was No.1 in the UK independent chart.

In order to meet the needs of current bands, artists and the new crop of exciting and vibrant independent record labels, Steve has developed a sophisticated recording environment which caters exactly for those needs

He is currently working with several very exciting new independent acts.
